ANT MAN * * *

When I heard about superhero ANT MAN, I must confess that I was amused. What will be his super powers? Walking in line with the other ants for crying out loud?! Or the more obvious one of lifting something which is 50 times heavier than your body weight ? Don't we already have the Incredible Hulk for that and boy o' boy isn't he himself overwhelming already? Anyway the movie turns that around for you. One needs to appreciate that we need heroes in all freaking sizes.

Now, coming to the storyline. Well this being the genesis tale of the superhero it has the that element which can be trusted blindly. You cannot deny the fact the we love listening to how they get to become what they are. We love the initial misadventures, fascinating revelations and sublime transformations. If you think about it, the first movie of a superhero reboot is always special to us. It's because this is the closest they get to the reality and to us. Remember "Batman Begins", that would always and always remain special. And though this is the first movie of ANT MAN but still you would feel that it is a reboot. That is because one man retires from duty and another takes over. It is like RISES when the old Batman is looking for someone to take over.

More on the plot front, there is no super villain in this case yet there is. The greatest enemy that we face is our self and that is exactly the point put up by the black shades in the movie. Coming to the casting, the return of Michael Douglas after long is powerful and Paul Rudd as ANT MAN is perfect as he the cutest not-so-tall actor around. Others have played their parts and special mention for Evangeline Lily and Michael Pena.

The witty interchanges between Paul Rudd and others keeps you giggling and pace of the movie do not allow room for look overs. The graphics coming from Marvel Studios cannot be disappointing and this fact ergo remains undisputed. The linkages with the Avengers are exciting and the cameo by Falcon is delicious for the hardcore Avengers fans. Overall, its a different perspective on  a different plain altogether. Just so that we appreciate the value of the smallest of things around us. Definitely worth a watch for the Superhero cult like me.

And to conclude, a fun fact for those who still think ANT MAN idea is so cheesy, "The total biomass of all the ants on earth is nearly equal to that of humans!" :D

BABY * *

My Rating 2/5
Director: Neeraj Pandey

These days the movie business has become a B-Plan which has an excellent commercial success rate and hence every Tom, Dick and Harry is venturing into it resulting into a zillion number of production houses yielding equal number of movies. So, generally people apply the "Good Director" formula in selecting a movie. And when it goes like "From the Director of A Wednesday and Special Chabbis", people would hardly have second thoughts. So most people got into this one with great expectations.

It starts on that tone, that very fast paced style of story telling which made us fall in love with this guy, Neeraj Pandey. But as they say, do not judge a movie by the first half itself. In terms of pace, the first half does well and keeps the audience hopeful that they are in for some serious climax twists. Something which never comes across. They start although with the cliched idea of a "Secret Organization" of the government to deal with the spread of terrorism in the nation. Sad part being that they could not add anything new to it.

The Plot of the movie is very much broken down to bits and pieces each of them resembling to some or the other Hollywood action flick. A major chunk of the first half revolves around getting a guy from Nepal to India so that some information can be hacked from him which he easily submits to at the end. It's like flying all the way to the USA to have a bite at the Burger King in spite of knowing the fact that the same stuff is now available in Saket.  Pure shit.

Talking of the art of using "Good Actors" to enhance the credentials of the movie, you get a gem like actor KK in your movie and then give him like five minute of screen time of which he speaks for like 30 seconds, what the hell, its like Cinematic Sacrilege for crying out loud! Then they attempt to airlift a terrorist from a foreign land without intimating the country. But the whole act comes out as so dumb at the end that it stands no where to the original Argo! Ironically at the end you do remember the punchline of Argo and dedicate it to the makers of Baby, "Go F**k Yourself!"

Man of Steel * * *

Months ago when that little teaser came out, it became a contagion. It had nothing great. But a soothing background score But a classy vintage outlook. But a bunch of wonderfully written lines. It gave us hope. Hope which the 'S' actually stands for and not for Superman. Not many people know that. Who am I kidding, even I didn't . It gave us hope that another grand trilogy is in the making on the lines of the Dark Knight. The Christopher Nolan connection sure helped to get our hopes high.

To be honest, it is nothing like that. The direction of Zack Snyder is more conspicuous than Christopher Nolan's writing. In fact, the movie is more about the grandeur of action sequences rather than the spurts of super-cool dialogues by dramatic personas. But the symphony of both is such that the narration comes out us gripping and novel. The screenplay ushers in a new era of story telling where you whisper eons worth stuff in a matter of minutes. Its fast, its superficial and its intriguing. Its Generation Y stuff.

The portrayal of how a human couple treats their alien baby is touching How they are always protective of him? How they want him to find the truth even when it means separation for them? How they want him to wait a while, so that when the world is ready, he can embrace them. And how the choices he would make would eventually determine the future of all mankind. Although the masala-movie lovers would find this a collage difficult to unfold. To them it would appear as bad editing.

The action sequences are simply out of this world. May be of Krypton standards. The fight scene with the humanoids from krypton is brilliantly shot and nothing short of breath-taking. The frames move so fast that you cannot even afford to blink in between. Too much of anything though, kills the fun. Same happens here. Awfully long fist-fights, too many collapsing buildings and then their recursive loop makes the whole experience a little dull.

Don't expect much from the plot either. It's just the story we all know. It's just the initiation of Superman. May be the coming parts will offer us more. This one is for die-hard Superman fans or those who had a great time watching Transformers.  Those who are contemplating to watch given the Nolan connect will only find themselves going into the limbo. And there is no DiCaprio to get you out of it!

The Hunger Games *

Set up somewhere far in the future, this movie is yet another satire on the stratification of the world into rich and poor sections. Hunger Games is the annual event organized by the capitol i.e. the riches who control the world. Two residents, one man and one woman  from each of the twelve districts are reaped to take part in this barbaric sport. And they have to fight each other till only one is left. These games were instituted as a retribution of the rebellion by the poor people against the wealthy of the capitol. These games are meant to remind the poor that they are doomed to be poor. Forever.

Although the movie takes off on a damn hot premise but soon collapses given the below-average screenplay, mediocre direction and not-so-impressive portrayals by the cast. The initial phase where the audience needs to be sensitized with the atrocities of these poor districts, fails to connect. The much needed intensity to pull off such a script is missing throughout. The whole portion depicting the preparations to the games comes out to be totally irrelevant and unnecessarily stretches the movie too far.

At the beginning of the games, you again get the thrill and the various possibilities that one anticipates keeps you occupied. But that happens only for a while. This part again fails to engage your attention. Talking about the action sequences, oh wait, there aren't any. The Hunger Games should have been something more intriguing. The only thing you might like in the movie is the way it ends. It exemplifies a great philosophy that the world runs on hope and if you take the hope away, it is bound to collapse.

It also highlights the simple truth that rich are rich because there are poor. The rich cannot let go off them. So summing up, it is a semi-boring satire on the rich-poor divide coupled with an apparent sci-fi dimension. High possibility that you won't like it. Although Karl Marx would have found it interesting!

Paan Singh Tomar * * * *

This is stuff we have been waiting for since long. A truly inspiring and touching biopic of a steeplechase legend who was forced by situations to run with a gun. And I know we all adore Irffan, but this outstanding portrayal of a rebel is surely taking him to the hall of fame. In fact, in Bollywood there have not been many  performances with such depth, conviction and intensity. All hail Irffan !

The story is set in the wild bihads along side the Chambal river where a local joins the Indian Army instead of the dacoit gangs. Soon his extra-ordinary running capabilities attract attention and he becomes the star athlete of the services grabbing all sorts of medals and world records in steeplechase. But things turn ugly back at home and he is forced to leave the army and comes back home to look after his kin and farm. Then the ugly becomes worse and he is left with no option but to use the power of the gun. The corrupt police and bureaucracy play a lead role as a catalyst to provoke the vengeance. Our runner turned Robin Hood takes his revenge and does a lot more for the poor people. Refusing to surrender to the useless government he is eventually killed in an ambush.

Mahie Gill who plays the wife has done well in her little space. The chemistry with Irffan is outstanding and a couple of their acts are absolutely hilarious and witty. The direction seems so international and the fast paced screenplay keeps you on your tips. Although, he could have shortened it a bit towards the very end. Irffan, right from the very first frame of his arrival brings in tremendous power and authority as Paan Singh. The authentic portrayal coupled with numerous punch lines in desi languageva & accentva is just perfect. This is a performance that deserves much more than a National. Oscar, here we come.

Although centered around the life of Paan Singh Tomar, this movie stands for so many people. The plight of the unsung sportsperson in our country who are not given the deserved attention. Many of these have died penniless and some due to insufficient medical attention. This is a real and painful story. The credits at the end of the movie dedicated to the unsung sportsperson of our country are equally painful. This film is about how rebels are born out of national heroes. An entertaining film with a strong message. Don't miss!

P.S. Respect to all the unsung sportsperson of India. You make us proud !

Agneepath *

Are we out of new stories? Are all the good directors and script-writers on a sabbatical lately? Have we already exhausted all the creativity in our cinema ? Apparently, yes. Here comes yet another attempt to recreate a legend. And again, it will just be an attempt. Nothing more than that. Time and again we have seen this happening. The newbies seem to prefer replication over innovation. But soon, they will have to accept the truth that legends cannot be recreated.

This remake of the original Agneepath is not even comparable to the magic which was created by Amitabh Bachchan & Danny Denzongpa. Hrithik fails to convince you that he is the angry young man of this age. The only saving grace of the movie is the overpowering performance of Sanju (as Kancha) and his extracts from Gita & Ramayana.

As in the original, it starts with the brutal execution of an honest and Gandhian teacher who comes in the way of a local goon and stands up for the sake of his village people. He is ambushed and falsely accused of an heinous act. His son Vijay, the protagonist, is imprinted with the image of his father being hanged over the Banyan tree. And he resolves to take revenge at any cost. And rest are all colors with the shades of vengeance. Sheer vengeance. To power up for the battle, Vijay plans to team up with a rival goon so as to rise to a level where he can negotiate with Kancha. There are some scenes where you feel your heart beat on a rise with the intense build-ups and all you want to do is to grab a dagger and hop in. Specially the scene, where Vijay gallops to save his sister along with his Hijra- Army. But all this build-up is screwed big time by the unwanted sentiyapa between brother-sister.

PC has been wasted in the movie and the filler family dramas retard the pace and take away the ephemeral thrills created. Even towards the dying moments, Vijay lacks the charisma and his eyes fail to convince you of the anger that powers you to unprecedented levels of insanity. In spite, Kancha seems to be more assertive than the protagonist. We all knew that there wasn't any story here. We just wanted to see madness, vengeance, insanity and revenge painted in the colors of heroism. We wanted to see a man driven only by vengeance. We wanted the angry young man. We wanted an eye for an eye. But sadly, we don't get all this. Those who haven't seen the original, may like it, and for rest i would say..

MI:Ghost Protocol * * *

Ethan Hunt is on a hunt again. And this time around he is on his own as the Impossible Missions Force i.e. IMF has been abolished by the American Government after the Kremlin is bombed during one of their missions. Some other secret agency piggybacks on their communication frequency and it makes Team Ethan the apparent culprit of Kremlin chaos.

As a response to this, the American government initiates the Ghost Protocol wherein Ethan is supposed to work secretly without any help from IMF and if caught, will be arrested with the allegation of terrorist attack on Kremlin. The cinematography and the action sequences filled with ultra-cool technological innovations take the MI series to a altogether different level. The sequences shot inside the Kremlin and the building act in Dubai is just breath taking.

The Indian connection i.e. Anil Kapoor has been given an ephemeral role of a lustful Indian Billionaire who gets ass-kicked all over. But people seemed to be really happy that at least some Indian actor could make it all the way to a mainstream Hollywood movie with Tom Cruise. So much so that some of them proudly clapped out loud.Way to go Anil Bhai! Although it seemed more like a molestation of his grandeur.

The movie is super-paced and cruises all the way towards the end and eventually turns out to be a one-man show. This one of MI, seemed more like a Bond flick, but the sad part was the absence of bond girls. But who the hell cares for a skin-show when you have Tom Cruise pulling off impossible acts defying the very principles of gravity. If you like action, cool gadgets and of course Cruise, then accept the Mission.

This review will self-destruct in 5 seconds.....   :D

In Time * * * *

Remember that good old saying that people keep on slapping at our faces when we show a little lethargic gesture.Time is Money. This flick written and directed by Andrew Niccol who's track record seems impressive with movies like Lord of War,The Trueman Show and The Terminal, is all about this very saying. And he has done it in style.Yet again.

The movie is set up in an altogether different sort of world where a human is born to live only 25 years and after that he can only live for the time which he earns and to do that there can be many ways.Once you are 25, you stop aging and the in built clock in your arm starts ticking. As salaries and wages people get time, to buy stuff they give time.Time is the universal currency.

But it isn't much different from the world we have today. It is also ruled by the rich who have millions of years on their clocks. They divide the world into time zones so as to keep people with similar leftover time together so as to avoid chaos and anarchy. They keep increasing the prices to pull out the time from the poor."For few to become immortals, many must die"

But Will Salas(Justine Timberlake) believes "No one should be immortal, even if a single person has to die". He wants to break the system controlled by the timekeepers who are no better than slaves to the rich. He teams up with the kingpin's daughter to steal time from the riches and distributes to the poor.Like the good old Robin Hood. But it's the vivid imagination and the wonderful portrayal that will impress you.One can also call it a satirical and sci-fi fantasy mocking the modern capitalistic societies. It's a short, fast and pretty interesting movie which is surely worth your precious 'time'.

Dabangg * *

People, this is what happens when you appreciate a film like 'Wanted'. Salman Khan is now the king of the genre called 'Hero-can-do-anything', which was invented by Rajnikant decades ago. I am sure Chulbul Pandey has done enough to embarrass the next in line 'Robot'. And not to mention, 'Most Wanted' is being scripted as you read this.

Dabangg is a story of a corupt police officer called Chulbul Pandey who right from his childhood is a very bindaas fearless guy,who hates his step-father-brother duo, who falls for a village hottie, who has a weird sense of romance and an alias-Robinhood.

Dabangg starts with a bangg(not a typo) when our Robinhood demonstrates his amazing gravity defying acts against a bunch of robbers. Tom cruise after 'Knight & Day' might be wondering,'May be this is the way it's done!'.Apart from the astounding action sequences, the movie has a few comic moments which includes the weird groove-moves when Chulbul dances, couple of good songs and a hot-hot item number by bhabhi.

I wonder do you need anything else to make people give a dekho to a movie these days. It's just sad.Nevertheless, Sonakshi Saxena is a cutie and is here to stay. She is not over shadowed by Salman in the flick and sticks her ground. To sum up, if you don't have anything to do this festive weekend, like million others, go for it. No blaming me, I watched it for the review !

Cheers

Inception * * * *

After Memento, The Prestige and The Dark Knight, comes yet another Nolan masterpiece which will rip your brain apart.I bet the amount of thinking you put into it even when watching it the first time, is more than enough to put you through CAT. What follows it is, a lot of debates and group discussions over what to take out of the movie and what actually Nolan might be thinking. Will that freaking totem fall or not ?

In this hi-tech era, nothing seems to be safe.Even ideas.Your own ideas inside your brain are not at all safe. There are these people who call them selves 'extractors'. These specially skilled people can get inside your dream world and can steal the most valuable secrets. One such thief 'Cobb' claims that he can perform Inception by planting an idea into someones mind. And in return he seeks his children and his home in States.

So in order to get all this, he forms a team and the adventure begins.Cobb had already performed an inception on his wife but she dies eventually as something goes terribly wrong. With all the Matrix drama all over again, Nolan creates an insanely brilliant thriller in which you cannot afford to miss a second.A second in the real world i meant.Leonardo DiCaprio is on a roll.He pulls off a stunner post Shutter Island. The thing with this flick is, the script is so involving and delicate that you just cannot put your focus on anything else. You don't get to focus on characters. You don't get to see the camera work. All you have on your mind is a question. In whose subconscious are we into ?

But that's the USP of the movie. It's so freaking complex, that you actually start enjoying the puzzle. And as it unfolds towards the last moments, Nolan kicks you on your face so hard that you are never going to forget this ride.Sometimes some questions unanswered is for the best. After this one thing is for sure, Nolan has been very successful with his Inception. No I mean it actually. He has planted something in your subconscious mind. That he is God! And hell yeah, we believe in him.And also i am happy that i wrote this review before somebody steals it from my mind :D

Raajneeti * *

This movie has crossed all limits of exaggeration. And it's more of a kill-bill type than a political drama. It has all the big names performing cameo's but nobody except Arjun Rampal has impressed. His performance is so realistic and powerful that you actually feel for him.Be it the 'Akhiyaan milaye kabhi Akhiyaan churaye' or 'Party se to nikal diya, par aap sab ke dil se kaise nikalenge'.If you think for Arjun Rampal 'Rock On!' was sky-high, then he proves you all wrong with his superb performance adding one more gem to his collection of versatile performances.

Basically the movie is all about murders and homicides courtesy the urge to conquer the political stage and my God they make this all look so easy.Killing some big shot leader is no biggie and no one gives a damn. If you remember Mahabharata, then you will be able to associate each of the characters in the epic. They also manage to pull scenes out of the Godfather as well. But i am most disappointed for some other reason. The teaser makes you believe than Katrina would be playing a major role and she looks impressive. But on the contrary, whatever you see of Katrina in the trailer is pretty much she has got in the movie as well. That's a bit of heart breaker.Nevertheless, she even looks great in a Saree. The bottom line is politics takes out the beast inside you.It will turn you upside down and shine your dark side.So enter only if you are clear at heart and pretty strong at holding your character in worst of times. Not possible in this Kalyug though as money outshines everything.

One good thing about the movie is that it does not have songs.I kind of like that.We are slowing moving towards Hollywood baybay.Ranbir and Katrina showed signs of growing up though the Fevi-Stick-presents-same-expression on Ranbir's face through out the movie is really very irritating.I mean come on boy, you on Botox or something? Rest all cameo's failed to make impact.Talking of Ajay devgan and his performance, lets just say he should do some different try outs. Will he be in Gangajal Hangover for every drama flick? I wonder. Also, the plot of the movie is totally unrealistic with some shocking twists and turns. And I don't get why the focus was on the action killing and stuff like that when this was supposed to be a full fledged drama.Anyways, after this dirty adaptation of Mahabharata, we can look forward to Mani Ratnam's Ramayana.

Kites * * *

The first thought that comes to your mind after seeing this is, why the hell it took them two and a half years to make a film like this. Was it difficult to get Barbara's dates? Was it the constant interruptions of Suzanne on the sets following the Hrithik-Mori link up ? Or was it the gloomy Kangana Ranaut taking her cool time to cope up grooving along side the hottest ever dancer in bollywood? Whatever dude, the result is not something extra-ordinary anyways.

Even then, it's a great romantic thriller. All the couples must not miss this one.The movie presents to us a all together different aspect of love. Two people who cannot speak the same language, can fall in love. Not just fall, fall really deep that they decide to let go off all the wealth they always wanted, all the glory that they always dreamed of.Not just that, they put their lives on the line for the sake of being together knowing that it won't be for long. The cinematography is really worth watching. The movie will make you believe that love can make you do things you never thought and things that you will never understand.

The couple really looks hot on screen and they do compliment each other. There are a couple of scenes in which barbara has done a real good job.She has not been sidelined by the Greek god. Hrithik on the other hand, hasn't impressed.Maybe, the expectations after such hype were colossal but still.Couple of songs by KK are the soul of the movie and the theme song sung by Hrithik himself is the worst noise in the movie you will hear.Besides the songs and Barbara, the only thing that you will notice is the boring high speed car chases. A typical Hollywood chic-flick action movie.

The reason for it not being appreciated here is India is pretty obvious. The sad climax.Oops ! did I say too much. The opening few lines of the movie say it all that it's going to be a tragic end.So, right at the very beginning of the movie, you can predict at ease.Anyways, yeah yeah unlike all Bollywood movies this does not end on a good note. But then, to me, it's more practical. Most of people in this Kalyug don't end up living happily ever after. It takes some guts to finally show the audience what you want to show them, rather then ending up in showing them what they want and what they have been.Good job Anurag Basu ! Just for the guts and nothing else!

Ninja Assassin * * *

Well Well Well.......had they made it in 3D...many people would have chocked to death by those lethal star blades flying all around unless you were born with a special heart i.e. on the other side. When this director made the Matrix people bench marked the action element it had.And he is back demolishing his own records. This one has super outstanding action sequences that will create ripples of extremely high magnitude in your every damn part. And the blood just makes it doubly effective.

One of the things which you will notice and love about the movie is the fact that it has very few dialogues and those are absolutely apt and meaningful and concise and perfectly performed. The amazing thing about the direction is that in spite of having an action sequence every five minutes, we can totally feel the other things which are portrayed in parallel. Be it the love shared by the two teen ninjas.Be it the anger of Raizo for his master.Be it the situational one liners or be it the brilliant background score.Everything just adds up to give you a superb action mix way ahead in terms of any thing you can think of as compared to contemporary action flicks.

And also take it seriously when I say this, Ninja Assassin is not for the faint hearted. They have shown the blood, the bruises and the killing so explicitly that even Quentin Tarantino might get goosebumps and develop an inferiority complex. But its not all in vain.It totally goes with the movie and without the slaughter show it might have looked or felt dull. The story revolves around a rebel ninja (Raizo) who was trained as an assassin along with hundred other orphans. These assassin are then sent to different parts of the world as they kill for money and there is no stopping them.Raizo breaks free from his group and decides to fight back for his vengeance of lost love. The action pact plot moves at a breath taking pace and never lets you to drift away from the screen. So if you like action and if you are not allergic to blood, you have to and have to see this. You will not regret it.

Chao !

P.S. Even Richa liked it ! :P

2012 * *

This one comes from the makers of 10,000 BC,The day after tomorrow,Godzilla and Independence day. 2012 is just another episode of the quest the director Roland Emmerich is on and which is to destroy the earth. He is so keen to figure out how the end will be and has tried near half a dozen ways it could be done and I have no doubt that he is currently working on the rest half a dozen.

This time Roland uses the famous and feared prophecy that the world will be destroyed and the human race will end on 21st of December, 2012.This is a known theory since long and even many scientists fear the phenomenon as it is related to the position of earth at that particular time resulting in deadly earthquakes and tsunamis. In the flick too all the nations get together fearing the possibility of it actually taking place and start a secret mission to save the human race by building ships that can survive the impact on doomsday. As the story unfolds, it comes out that the program was developed only for the rich and the powerful.

The whole plot moves around a broken family which eventually unites at the end courtesy the marathon massacre of the human race. The visual effects are spectacular and brilliantly thought of.A very fast moving screenplay which keeps you on the edge of your seat all the time. Some of the scenes are really worth a watch on a big screen. No fun watching them on your laptop for sure. The mass destruction and holocaust depiction almost looks real and makes you think for a while that the theatre you are seating in might as well go down any second now.

Talking about the lows, to some people who follow Roland might actually see 2012 as a medley of his previous world destroying attempts. It seems he just copied a few scenes from each one, edited it nicely and Tada ....2012.But still it is way better to spend money on this rather than watching Saifeena in action in the remake of New York.Witness the stuff in advance as you might not be able to see the whole stuff when this actually happens. No offense but 2012 is yet to come.

Blue * *

Blue is a new beginning.A bollywood action film made in angrezi isstyle. It actually gives you that english film wali feeling.Be it the superbly shot bike sequences which remind you of fast and furious.Be it the amazingly beautiful underwater photography.Be it the intense scenes shot in the moon light like the ambiance in Sin City. But how can Anthony(The Director) forget the most basic thing. You have to have a story-line man.Every other awesome thing will look dull otherwise.

Long back in 1949, when Britain decided to return a part of gold valuables taken from India before its independence, they send all this on a ship called 'Lady In Blue' which sunks somewhere near Bahamas. The reasons being mysterious.Aarav( Akshay Kumar) is a rich dude on a mission. He wants the lady in blue and he's aware of the fact that only Sagar( Sanjay Dutt) can do this job for him.Sagar is not willing to hunt down the lost treasure for reasons of his own.But when his little brother Sam( Zayed Khan) gets into trouble and also to make Lara dutta's dream to save marine life true, he finally decides to go deep into the blue.

Akshay Kumar performs the usual.Nothing new to it and nothing impressive.Sanju baba should really consider a retirement now.Katrina Kaif in her special appearance looks super cute in curls and that shiny little piercing below the lower lip just adds on to the flawless beauty she is.Rest performances are all mediocre. And the direction is so terrible that you feel like killing him and feeding it to the sharks.A R rehman ka jadu to chalega hi.His sizzling tunes and background score scores well.

Few things you won't miss in blue. One, Sanju baba has put on a lot of weight and probably this is the only reason he manages to get so much of screen space. No offense munaa bhai but you exactly portray all those fatso losers who somehow manage to have the hottest chicks. Two, Zayed Khan's new look is not bad as compared to his weird hair-do's in the past.Three, the treasure hunt seemed to be so lame and a baaye-haath-ka-khel and had no adventure element in it.It was like they only needed to decide when they wanted it.Four, Lara Dutta has never looked more hot and gorgeous.Who cares about the dolphins when you have such a fish swimming upside down and what not.So watch blue for its underwater photography, watch blue for its action sequences and watch blue for Lara and not Kylie Minogue.

Inglourious Basterds * * * *

A masterpiece from Tarantino with only less of blood and more powerful performances. The movie has everything in store for you but the real catch is something else.A superb and brilliant performance by an individual. And it's not Brad Pitt this time. The real basterd is someone else.Christoph Waltz steals the show with his best ever performance. We can never forget the way Heath Ledger portrayed the joker. And Waltz has done something similar to Col. Hans Landa.

The Inglourious basterds are a bunch of African-American soldiers which are dropped into the Nazi-occupied France to rescue the Jews and kill the Germans. This mercy less troop is led by Lt.Aldo Raine played by Brad Pitt who carries the African-American ascent brilliantly. The movie depicts the cruelty of the Germans on the Jews who hide themselves all over France.

Waltz who portrays Col. Hans Landa is given the responsibility to search and kill the rats. And no doubt he proves himself worthy of it.His mere presence is so powerful and keeps you wondering what is coming next. You cannot take your eyes off the screen when he is around. His every word and his every action seems so calculated.

The background score of the movie is so apt and beautiful at times.Be it the Beethoven's theme in the starting sequence or the dark melodies in between, all of them compliment the on-going plot of the movie. The cinematography is exceptionally good. The scene in which the theater is on fire and the face of Shosanna mocking the Germans being projected on the smoke is just breath-taking.And this is not it, Tarantino also delivers a strong climax.A superb movie after a long time.Do not try this at home, go to a theater near you !

Heil Tarantino !
