Kites

It was a beautiful morning. The sun was out though hiding behind that big white cloud. The sunshine coming out in every direction.A black kite started its journey crossing the horizon to go up in that blue sky.It was bound, of course. Like every other one. And you can never see who controls them.

At first, the kite didn't know anything about this big blue sky. It had no clue what was it's destiny, it's purpose and where should it fly so as to fulfill the same.It had no clue that this very breeze which seemed so mesmerizing, which wanted to take it away, can even destroy it to pieces. The kite was not bothered about the fact that it was being controlled by someone as it had no opinion of it's own.It enjoyed being driven.Being blown away by the mighty wind.Time flew like the wind and the black kite reached that ultimate height beyond which it could not go.That was it. It wanted to go higher and higher. It wanted to explore the whole blue sky. It tried and tried, but could not break free. The string won't allow it to. It made numerous attempts again and again. All in vain.

Then came a red one.It had never seen a kite like this one.It was so beautiful, but not arrogant. It was long, but not twisted. It was so colourful and not dull at all.It had flowers, butterflies and gorgeous patterns all over.It fell for it.So deeply lost the black kite was that it did not notice the most strange thing about it. It was not bound. It was free. It was independent.Even from that mighty wind.Is it real, it thought. It curled here and there.Up and down. All around the black kite. The red one saw the desperation. It saw that thirst for freedom. It saw that innocent black kite.It saw those dreams it had.

Then something magical happened. The red one circled around the black with the pace of a storm. It strangled the string and freed the black one.The black kite flew pushing the wind.Up it went beyond the clouds. It is real! It thought. The red one followed. Everything was clear now. The dreams. The ambitions. And the sky ahead.
