Ninja Assassin * * *

Well Well Well.......had they made it in 3D...many people would have chocked to death by those lethal star blades flying all around unless you were born with a special heart i.e. on the other side. When this director made the Matrix people bench marked the action element it had.And he is back demolishing his own records. This one has super outstanding action sequences that will create ripples of extremely high magnitude in your every damn part. And the blood just makes it doubly effective.

One of the things which you will notice and love about the movie is the fact that it has very few dialogues and those are absolutely apt and meaningful and concise and perfectly performed. The amazing thing about the direction is that in spite of having an action sequence every five minutes, we can totally feel the other things which are portrayed in parallel. Be it the love shared by the two teen ninjas.Be it the anger of Raizo for his master.Be it the situational one liners or be it the brilliant background score.Everything just adds up to give you a superb action mix way ahead in terms of any thing you can think of as compared to contemporary action flicks.

And also take it seriously when I say this, Ninja Assassin is not for the faint hearted. They have shown the blood, the bruises and the killing so explicitly that even Quentin Tarantino might get goosebumps and develop an inferiority complex. But its not all in vain.It totally goes with the movie and without the slaughter show it might have looked or felt dull. The story revolves around a rebel ninja (Raizo) who was trained as an assassin along with hundred other orphans. These assassin are then sent to different parts of the world as they kill for money and there is no stopping them.Raizo breaks free from his group and decides to fight back for his vengeance of lost love. The action pact plot moves at a breath taking pace and never lets you to drift away from the screen. So if you like action and if you are not allergic to blood, you have to and have to see this. You will not regret it.

Chao !

P.S. Even Richa liked it ! :P

2012 * *

This one comes from the makers of 10,000 BC,The day after tomorrow,Godzilla and Independence day. 2012 is just another episode of the quest the director Roland Emmerich is on and which is to destroy the earth. He is so keen to figure out how the end will be and has tried near half a dozen ways it could be done and I have no doubt that he is currently working on the rest half a dozen.

This time Roland uses the famous and feared prophecy that the world will be destroyed and the human race will end on 21st of December, 2012.This is a known theory since long and even many scientists fear the phenomenon as it is related to the position of earth at that particular time resulting in deadly earthquakes and tsunamis. In the flick too all the nations get together fearing the possibility of it actually taking place and start a secret mission to save the human race by building ships that can survive the impact on doomsday. As the story unfolds, it comes out that the program was developed only for the rich and the powerful.

The whole plot moves around a broken family which eventually unites at the end courtesy the marathon massacre of the human race. The visual effects are spectacular and brilliantly thought of.A very fast moving screenplay which keeps you on the edge of your seat all the time. Some of the scenes are really worth a watch on a big screen. No fun watching them on your laptop for sure. The mass destruction and holocaust depiction almost looks real and makes you think for a while that the theatre you are seating in might as well go down any second now.

Talking about the lows, to some people who follow Roland might actually see 2012 as a medley of his previous world destroying attempts. It seems he just copied a few scenes from each one, edited it nicely and Tada ....2012.But still it is way better to spend money on this rather than watching Saifeena in action in the remake of New York.Witness the stuff in advance as you might not be able to see the whole stuff when this actually happens. No offense but 2012 is yet to come.

A Christmas Carol 3D *

From the director of Forrest Gump,The Polar Express and Cast Away comes a classic tale of the miser Ebenezer Scrooge in 3D at an Imax near you. That sounds fascinating right. The idea of seeing the story which you once fell in love with in your high school curriculum. The story with a wonderful message. The story with the snow, the carols and the ghosts. That actually sounds fascinating. But unfortunately it's not.

Well no doubt the play has been brilliantly scripted.Zo Charles Dickens! We all love 'A Christmas Carol' and would love to recite the same to our children and grandchildren. And even the idea of making a movie out of it is also not bad.But there wasn't much scope for that.Perhaps that's what Robert Zemeckis thought and eventually made this animation flick in 3D.

Now if you are selling it as a 3D flick, you need to give the crowd some mind blowing cinematography and breathtaking visuals. This seemed to be a big miss. The movie at the start is very dull and slow. The part when Scrooge comes out all nice after the ghost experience is really exciting to watch. Those who love 'A Christmas Carol' as a story will anyhow like the movie.Overall it is a movie for kids and their parents.

Load Runner

Woke up this morning,
with an urge to run away,
far from where I rested,
To a distant galaxy,
or something similar.

I ran and ran.
Faster,Faster,
Left behind my place,
the people and the routine.

A new world opened it's door,
I embraced it.
Birds flying over the shining water.
Soothing breeze all over me.
I ran and ran.

I was all alone,
in that green heaven.
All alone with the nature,
at it's supreme best.
I ran and ran.

And then they all,
vanished in a blink.
The unwanted though came back,
my place, the people and the routine.
I came back from the Jog.

Neal N Nikki II

[On a deserted beach somewhere in Mumbai]

What a beautiful place this is Nikki ! The sun, the sand and the exuberant sea. I can stay here forever.Wish I could. I feel so relaxed as if I don't want anything else from life. This is it.And I feel so calm here.No worries. No hurries.I can totally be myself.Whenever I come here, I just cannot stop myself from smiling.I love this place.[ Looking at the sea ]

Neal, you have the cutest smile, you should always smile. It may give others a reason to smile.[Looking at Neal]

[Neal turns to Nikki. She now looking at the sea]

You now Rahul right. The guy who lives next to me.Last night he came over for drinks. After everyone else left he stayed back. And then one thing led to another and we started..

What? So Gross Neal...I thought you were stra.....[stands up in shock]

Nooooo.......here me out silly ......we started talking about LDR's....[embarrassed]

Aahha....is it some jargon straight people can't figure out ? [teasing Neal]

Shut up Nikki.Go away. You killed the mood.[acts irritated]

Ok baba...I believe you are straight ...fine...now carry on..

Long Distance Relationships!

Oh that...I know that....I am just bad at getting acronyms.

So, he is in one.All the time we were drinking, he was telling me about her.How they rarely get to see each other. And all these years they have been so far and yet so close. How they spend time together over the phone.I don't get it Nikki.I mean how the hell can that work for someone.I was bombed hard.

Not surprised Neal! You never believed in love anyway. And this stuff is not for the faint-hearted like you.You got to have patience. You got to trust your partner when he/she says this will end someday and we will be together for ever. And you know what is the most beautiful thing about LDR, it's based on the most pure and powerful form of love i.e. care.As you can't be there all the time physically, you learn to care for that person.Though you can just give him some words, but they are so damn powerful. And Neal, it's a wonderful feeling that in spite of all the odds, you choose to be together.

Still Nikki, how can you live without seeing your beloveds face everyday when you wake up?
How can you live without giving that person a hug once in a while? Must be damn tough!

Tough Love! Well I am a fan of that. And to answer your questions, memories of time spent together helps to get through the longings. And the immense love makes it easy.It takes you to this wonderland. You can stay here forever. You feel so relaxed as if you don't want anything else from life. This is it.And you feel so calm here.No worries. No hurries. You can totally be yourself.Whenever you come there, you just cannot stop yourself from smiling.you love this place.[ Looking at the sea ]

[ Neal turns to Nikki in amazement]

APKGK *

The chocolate boy has done it yet again. This is what happens when you put the juiciest boy of Bollywood with the most beautiful cutie around.A lethal combination which makes all the couples think if they look cute enough together to pull off even a tiny portion of the Ranbir-Katrina mega mix. A full-on no-masala-but-still-commercial romantic comedy.

If you are reading this to know the plot of the flick, I can't help you with that.I really can't.As there is none.To sum up, it's a story a boy named Prem Chopra (Ranbir) who's life if full of troubles and funny acts all along who falls in love with Jenny (Katrina) who makes him go nuts and like every bollywood film he gets the girl after a series of unfortunate but funny events.Have to give it to the movie the fact that it's damn funny at times. But Raj Kumar Santoshi fails to keep the flow going. There are very apparent dull and boring times in the movie as well.

Talking about Ranbir, he has improved yet again.Let's just stay he is here to do big.And finally Katrina gets a role to play and not just to dance hip-hop along side Akshay kumar.Good for her.She looks amazingly beautiful and like a goddess as always. And that cute smile of hers has become cuter.Way to go girl! Salman Khan makes a guest appearance and tries to pull out the real equations in life which is not at all funny.'Tera hone laga hoon' is a chart buster for sure and a couple of more songs are really more than average and will touch you deeply but the spirit of the movie are the comic moments in between. There isn't really much to say about this one.If you have a girl, take her and enjoy the cute couple on screen and the funny things they pursue.Period.

Break Up

"Let go off me",she said,
How can I?
You have been so good to me.
You have given me so much.
So many wonderful moments,
I don't want you to leave me.
How will I survive?

"It's destiny!
Someone else has you,
the other one awaits you,
I have to go,
It's destiny !"

But I don't know them,
Will they be as sweet as you,
will they make me happy like you did,
make me learn like you did,
will they ?

"It's in your hands my dear,
you can shape her like me,
or better.
I am eternal to your heart,
I am not leaving you,
Just moving on.And you should too!"

I let her go.
My beautiful Past.

P.S Sometimes we fall in love with things that happen around us.We get used to them. But when we move, it becomes difficult to accept the change. We don't like change. But someday we need to move from that comfort zone we made. It's difficult. But an even better future awaits you if you think that way.

P.S 2 I thought people will get the sarcasm but anyways, 'she' is not a girl, 'she' refers to my PAST !
