Paa * *

Why is this movie even titled 'Paa'? Why not 'Auro' ? Or even 'Maa' seems to makes much more sense. This film is not about the fatherly love, care and the protective figure that he should be.Instead, here a man abandons a girl he knocked up for the sake of his career. He has no concerns whatsoever for that girl in 13 years un till he accidently meets his own 12 yr old son who stands as tall as him courtesy the super rare DNA mismatch called Progeria. His body grows 6 times faster that his mind and ergo at age 12, he already is a senior citizen physically. His head is larger than life and he looks like some desi ET.

Vidya portrays Auro's mother as a strong woman who never complains the fact that why that rare malfunction had to happen to her child. For her, Auro is everything. When her love interest showed his disinterest in raising a child so early at their age, she turned into this strong women devoid of feelings with a stone-heart which only melts for Auro. She is proud of her son rather than being embarrassed. Some jerks might learn a lesson here who are too embarrassed taking their ugly infants to the outside world. They are your children damn it. And no one in this world is ugly for god sake. It's your dirty dirty perceptions into play.Anyways, the flick clearly depicts the heart touching motherly love and that uncanny bond that they both share .Also, the movie starts with an innovative Jaya speaking out the names of the actors. This film is all about mothers. Why name it 'Paa' ?

Oh crap.....I forgot to mention what this film was supposed to be about.Am I experiencing a Deja Vu? Yes I am, the writer and director R Balki also forgot the same. This film should have been about Auro .And not about his biological father's political dream. The first half of the movie is so out of the line that you actually think this film is not about the excellent portrayal of a special kid by the versatile AB, rather its about AB jr and his political crap. The director should have realized this that this was supposed to be a SUB-plot and not sub-PLOT.Nevertheless, hats-off to AB.He is a pure genius. He has done it again.Another gem for his collection. How do you play a 60 yr old man who is still 12 mentally. Why bother, just go and watch AB doing all the pranks and boy he is hilarious at that. And also some of his friends at school. But the sad thing being that he did not get the screen presence he deserved and ergo the audience fails to feel that emotional connect with Auro. And talking about the weird camerawork, was that suppose to be cool ? FYI that sucked big time too. This is what happens when you forget the protagonist and focus on every other damn aspect. It could have been so good.Still, watch it for AB and watch it for Auro.
