I am sure you have liked the trailer. Duh, what's there not to like folks? Witty one liners, double meaning cheap dialogues, gestures and postures. And all this revolving around the most talked about yet the most tabooed genre of SEX. But wait, that trailer sums it up pretty much. I mean the director has showcased all the best stuff in the teaser itself and the rest is apparently just to tease you some more.
So this lustful journey is about this guy who is a "VAASU", apparently a sophistication of the word "THARKI". And he has been this way since the time he figured out while he indulged in standing ovations on seeing pretty girls. He never ran away from it. He liked it. This was probably his calling. And boy, he went for it. Left, Right and center. The basic story line is about all his sexcounters with various women at different phases of his youth and beyond. Ultimately realizing that this can't go on all life long.
The most irritating thing about the movie is the fucked up chronology of showing sequences. One frame we are in his twenties, the other frame we are in his childhood and in the next somewhere in between. Director Saab, why try non-linearity in this simple plot. Get off, you ain't no Nolan and this ain't no fucking thriller. Secondly, the movie is heavily lopsided with all the right stuff jam packed in the first half. The second half is #EpicFail and is like that dull relationship where both the partners are just looking desperately to find someone else so that they finally have a reasonable excuse to depart.
The end is so predictable that it does not provide the final kick to awe the audience for the one last time. You get a feel that the director has tried to give the audience that watershed film that would finally break the silence on Sex and all that jazz. But with a lesser known cast, mediocre performances and the dwindling levels of wit, he would not get the reaction he was looking for. The reaction would possibly be more like an Erectile Dysfunction.
Like premature ejaculation, the movie Climaxes too soon and the rest part becomes awkward and boring. Can be a one time watch but with a special category of people, you know who!
